Challenge
Deliver a clickable prototype POC to support the CEO’s summit presentation, showcasing a unified RLDatix platform. The work will highlight RLDatix’s suite as a cohesive solution, completed quickly and with minimal risk.
Solution
Phase 1 will focus on creating prototypes for select screens and journeys across R&S, PolicyStat, OneSource, and A&S. These will align with RLDatix’s new brand and Nova Design System.
Phase 2 will refine and expand designs based on feedback, integrating them into more features and screens with additional UX research.
Results
Prototypes from Phase 1 will enable the CEO to present a compelling vision of a unified RLDatix. Insights and feedback will guide future designs and development in Phase 2.
Product Road map
Background research
To understand RLDatix's business and products, we conducted discovery work, including research and interviews with YLD designers familiar with RLDatix’s design system. This revealed key pain points: RLDatix owns numerous critical risk management and compliance products that are outdated in UI and lack usage data. Additionally, teams operate in silos with no structured ecosystem to support communication and collaboration.

Interview summary and findings
Current products
Here are some screenshots showcasing RLDatix products: Risk and Safety, OneSource, Audits and Standards, and PolicyStat. As you can see, each product has a distinct look and feel. This highlights the importance of integrating them into a unified platform, ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience across all solutions.
Userflows
Based on our research, we mapped potential user flows that emphasise the value of integrating our four products into a unified platform while maintaining realism.
To ensure accuracy, we repeatedly validated these flows with key stakeholders, product owners, and product managers of the relevant products.
Final flow
A single end-to-end journey with four distinct user flows, each reflecting a different persona.
The journey covers an incident being reported, reviewed, investigated, and then the subsequent triggering of policy and audit updates all within one RLDatix platform.
Ideation
We translated these user flows into wireframe sketches, initiating the ideation process.
After several iterations, the sketches were refined and transferred to Figma as low-fidelity wireframes to better showcase their respective flows.
Low-Fi wireframes
We started by transforming the ideation sketches into low-fidelity wireframes, leveraging a Figma UI kit to accelerate the process rather than building each component from scratch. This approach helped streamline our workflow, especially given the tight timeline leading up to the summit.
The low-fidelity wireframes were continuously reviewed with stakeholders to ensure alignment with the broader product integration vision. Based on their feedback, multiple iterations were made before transitioning to high-fidelity wireframes. As the other designers shifted their focus to refining the high-fidelity designs, I concentrated on improving and refining the wireframe user flows, ensuring a seamless and cohesive experience.
Design System
The new design system was a key element in the POC, as part of the future vision was to showcase the latest design system work RLDatix has been developing in line with the new branding.
One of the challenges we faced was that the design system was still a work in progress, meaning some components were missing. As a result, we had to create new components while ensuring they remained consistent with the branding and styling of the existing system.
Prototyping
We spent time prototyping the four user flows that would be showcased at the summit. One challenge we faced was how the CPO would present them—she wanted to use a clicker, which made a Figma prototype unsuitable for this type of presentation. Our solution was to use Keynote, which bridges the gap between a traditional PowerPoint-style presentation and Figma’s micro-interactions. This allowed us to effectively showcase the prototype and interactions while enabling seamless navigation with a clicker.
Feedback
Rapid feedback was crucial to the success of this project. Given the short timeframe, our goal was to keep stakeholders continuously informed and provide frequent opportunities for feedback. This ensured that the product remained aligned with existing solutions, as we didn’t want to deviate too far—especially in terms of functionality.
Since the summit audience consisted of existing users who were deeply familiar with these products, it was important that, while we worked to unify the design, the core functionality remained consistent with what they already knew.
POC demo
Once the final prototype was completed, I was tasked with creating a demo for the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to use in preparation for the upcoming summit. My goal was to craft a clear and engaging walkthrough that highlighted:
 • A coherent user flow narrative
 • Key user experience improvements over the existing products
 • Seamless product integration
 • Enhanced visual consistency across the interface
The demo below captures this walkthrough, showcasing the progress and strategic design choices made.
